Justin Bieber and Katy Perry are among the leading contenders for the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, with Bieber snagging five nominations and Perry earning four.
Only two of Bieber’s nominations are for his music. He’s up for
Choice Male Artist and Choice Single by a Male Artist, for ‘Boyfriend.’
His other categories are Choice Fashion Icon: Male, Choice Male Hottie
and Choice Twit, which goes to the best tweeter. Perry is a contender
for Choice Female Artist, Choice Single by a Female Artist for ‘Part of
Me,’ Choice Fashion Icon: Female, and Choice Female Hottie.
‘American Idol‘ scored five nods in the television categories, while ‘Glee‘ nabbed three. ‘Idol’ judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are up for the male and female Choice TV Personality awards, where they will compete against Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera of ‘The Voice.’
The 2012 Teen Choice Awards air on July 22 at 8PM ET on Fox.
