Azealia Banks
takes it back to the wild, wild west in the new video for her latest
song ‘Licorice’ from her ’1991′ EP. The Harlem spitfire is a sexy
cowgirl but unlike the phonetically-spelled song, there’s nothing sweet
about her — she’s got a six-shooter and she knows how to use it.
The clip first opens with a title sequence that’s reminiscent of the intros seen in those classic spaghetti westerns like ‘The Good, The Bad and the Ugly‘
starring Clint Eastwood. We then seen cowgirl Banks dressed in black
shorts with leather chaps calling all the boys to the yard.
“Hey, I’m the licorice b—-, you know I’m looking for these n—as
if these n—as is rich / I make hits motherf—er / Do you jiggle ya d—
when ya b—- pop singing on the liquorice hit, ya know?” she raps, while bucking to the hyper club-driven track.
Banks also vamps it up in a sexy American flag bikini and stiletto
boots while holding a baseball bat. There’s plenty of phallic-like
symbols on display in the Rankin-helmed
video, including Banks squeezing on a hot dog and sucking on a
lollipop. The video ends with Banks in the middle of the desert, dressed
in a purple mini-skirt, dancing into the night surrounded by bonfires.
