Taylor Swift
had a starstruck July 4, and no, we’re not talking about fireworks or
the stars on the grand old flag. Country music’s sweetheart celebrated
her Independence Day by taking a (romantic?) walk on the beach with
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick and going sailing with several
members of the Kennedy family in Massachusetts.
As you can imagine, celebrity gossip outlets caught wind of Swift’s
Fourth of July stroll with 18-year-old Patrick Schwarzenegger and
immediately turned it into fodder for the ‘Taylor Swift love interest’ rumor mill.
But for now, nobody knows if the two young stars are just friends or
something more. Also, it bears adding that the ‘Safe and Sound’ hitmaker
didn’t spend the entire day alone with Schwarzenegger. The two
reportedly took a private stroll on the beach, but Swift spent more
time hanging out with the iconic Kennedy family at Hyannis Port in Cape
Cod.
The past few months, the chart-topping country star has been spotted
hobnobbing with the legendary American family on more than one occasion.
In fact, Swift has been so inspired by the political Kennedy clan that
she even penned a song about them.
Swift found herself on the radar of the late Robert F. Kennedy’s
daughter Rory Kennedy, who has young girls at home, and in January, the
22-year-old ‘Ours’ songstress was invited to attend the Sundance Film Festival to view the red carpet premiere of ‘Ethel,’ a documentary about Rory’s mother, Ethel Kennedy.
Swift, who is a megastar in her own right, has become an admirer of
Ethel Kennedy, and actually admitted to feeling nervous around the widow
of the late Robert F. Kennedy.
“The only time in my life I have ever been starstruck was meeting
Caroline and Ethel Kennedy,” Swift said after her first encounter,
according to Ace Showbiz. “I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago.”
Hopefully, having one-on-one time with the Kennedys in Cape Cod has
helped Swift get used to spending time around her favorite political
wife. The ‘Mean’ singer has been hanging out with the family since
Tuesday, and yesterday (July 4), spent a relaxing sunny afternoon on a
Kennedy sailboat.
Right now it looks like the only fireworks Swift experienced this
week were in conjunction with July 4 festivities — and perhaps a few
butterflies in her stomach, courtesy of the famous family. Until we hear
more about her chumming up with Schwarzenegger, we’ll stick to what we
know.
